Upptäck Cirkus på skånska! Cirkus Syd, Riksteatern Lund och Riksteatern Skåne sampresenterar utdrag ur tre Skånekompaniers cirkusföreställningar. Publiken får möta tre helt olika föreställningars konstnärliga uttryck. Det blir enkelt och suggestivt, visuellt och uttrycksfullt, sårbart och starkt, samt en mängd olika cirkusdiscipliner. Helt enkelt ett riktigt cirkus-fyrverkeri, ett firande av den skånska cirkusens tekniska och konstnärliga höjd och variation! Artisterna som presenterats svarade på en open call som Riksteatern Lund och Cirkus Syd skickade ut i somras för att få bättre koll på cirkusartister i Skånes föreställningar med möjlighet att presenteras hösten 2022 och framåt. Så många fina föreställningar skickade in information att det var omöjligt att välja en att presentera ihop. Så föddes idéen till eventet Cirkus på skånska. För hjälp med att välja ut föreställningar samlades en referensgrupp bestående av representater från organisation vilka representerar Skånes cirkussektors professionella och har stor erfarenhet av antingen cirkus alternativt att presentera cirkus och andra konstformer i Lund. I referensgruppen ingick: Lotta Brusk - Visit Lund, Kristina Eriksson - Riksteatern Skåne, Hanna Hedvall - Manegen/Karavan, Malin Nilsson - Riksteatern Lund, Maja Ellborg - Riksteatern Lund, Hedda Celander - Cirkus Syd, Lina B. Frank - Cirkus Syd, Anna Ljungqvist - Malmö stad. Referensgruppen fattade ej beslutet utan höll en diskussion som användes som underlag till beslut. Diskussionen berörde ämnen som vad som fattas i Skåne, vad ser vi inte ofta? Hur skapar vi störst variation och kompletterar existerande utbud bäst? Och utifrån dessa frågor vilka ansökningar blir då prioriterade att visa först för en allmän publik i Lund? Resultatet blev att 3 kompanier bjöds in för att visa 20min vardera ur sina föreställningar den 1a Dec på Lunds Stadsteater. Föreställningen utforskar identitetsbyggande och vi använder analogin om behållare/innehåll som utgångspunkt i vårt fysiska arbete. Vi vill få publiken att reflektera över sig själv och sin omgivning som en behållare, funderar på vad de just har sett och fyllts med och vad de fyller sina liv med varje dag.
Bära eller brista - Circus by me
Det får bära eller brista är en föreställning som berättar en bärande del av kvinnans historia med hjälp av akrobatik och samtida folkmusik. På scen byggs det mänskliga pyramider och imponerande akrobatiska koreografier i nycirkusens innovativa anda. En spaning om kvinnor som gör konst om kvinnor.
Between me and a hard place - Hugo Bergman
Titeln på projektet ’Between me and a hard place’ kommer från ett engelskt uttryck (”between a rock and a hard place”) som betyder att vara fast i ett dilemma. Den beskriver också en "hård" plats, en svår plats. Föreställningen är en hyllning till naturen i dess primitiva form. Genom sitt konstnärliga vokabulär, inspirerad av enkla och små saker, delar Hugo Bergman på scenen med sig av sitt personliga perspektiv på samtida cirkus.
Presenteras även som del av konstnärsnämndens cirkusprogram, med stöd från Kulturrådet, Region Skåne och Lunds kommun. I samarbete med Visit Lund.

Cirkus Syd, Riksteatern Lund and Riksteatern Skåne co-present excerpts from three Skånekompanies' circus performances. The audience gets to meet the artistic expression of three completely different performances. It becomes simple and evocative, visual and expressive, vulnerable and strong, as well as a variety of circus disciplines. Simply a true circus firework, a celebration of the technical and artistic height and variety of the Scanian circus!
The artists presented answered an open call that Riksteatern Lund and Cirkus Syd sent out this summer to get a better overview of circus artists in Skåne's performances with the possibility of being presented in autumn 2022 and beyond. So many great shows submitted information that it was impossible to choose one to present together. This is how the idea for the event Circus in Scania was born.
For help in selecting performances, a reference group was assembled consisting of representatives from organizations that represent Skåne's circus sector professionals and have extensive experience in either circus or presenting circus and other art forms in Lund.

The reference group did not make the decision but held a discussion which was used as a basis for the decision. The discussion touched on topics such as what is missing in Skåne, what do we not see often? How do we create the greatest variety and complement the existing range best? And based on these questions, which applications will be prioritized to show first to a general audience in Lund?
The result was that 3 companies were invited to show 20 minutes each of their performances on 1st Dec at Lund's Stadsteater.

The Vessel is a utopian circus project with children
and young people between the ages of 6 and 12 as the target group. "Every vessel, every container, will only pour out what is in it..." (Shaykh Abdullah Adhami)
The performance explores identity building and we use the container/content analogy as a starting point in our physical work. We want the audience to reflect on themselves and their surroundings as a container, thinking about what they have just seen and been filled with and what they fill their lives with every day.
Bära eller brista - Circus by me
Bära eller brista is a performance that tells a vital part of women's history with the help of acrobatics and contemporary folk music. On stage, human pyramids and impressive acrobatic choreographies are built in the innovative spirit of the contemporary circus.
Between me and a hard place - Hugo Bergman
The title of the project 'Between me and a hard place' comes from an English expression ("between a rock and a hard place") which means being stuck in a dilemma. It also describes a "hard" place, a difficult place. The show is a tribute to nature in its primitive form. Through his artistic vocabulary, inspired by simple and small things, Hugo Bergman shares his personal perspective on contemporary circus on stage.
