ARTiculate Circus Education
2018 - 2022
ARTiculate Circus began as BNCN’s pedagogy development strand, which Cirkus Syd produced on behalf of the network. Under the ARTiculate strand we explored how to develop circus education across our region, with specific focus on artistic thinking in circus education. How to train to make circus arts, to use circus as creative tool to make art in addition to equipping students with technical ability. The ARTiculate projects are developed by the BNCN pedagogy work group with support from the BNCN Coordination Office.

Festival Pre-Study
2022
On behalf of Lund Municipality's cultural administration, we have produced a feasibility study on starting a new circus festival. The study is in Swedish and will also be published in English if the need arises. We want to express our greatest gratitude to everyone who participated and the next step will be to gather in August for a meeting on how we can further develop the concept, as well as to do a supplementary study on using Cirkus Brazil Jack's tent in the festival. The study is designed by Katie Holloway for Cirkus Syd.
The study may be cited as long as it is clear that the quotation comes from the study and is not distorted in the context.
PROJECTS
Circus Thinkers Publication 2020

Circus Thinkers Platform is a space that evolved from our Falling study circles spring 2020. It's a space to read, think, talk, learn and reflect collectively with others across the globe. For this publication the members are given space to elaborate on themes that have come up during the year and thus create something joint that can also have an impact and effect on the culture and circus field in general. Circus Thinkers Platform Publication 2020 will be developed autumn 2020 and launched on 17th December to conclude the year.
The publication is available as digital and printed version here

Riga ICCE
2021
In 2018 Baltic Nordic Circus Network with Riga Cirks and Manegen produced an international conference of circus education Riga ICCE. The conference became a larger venture and a larger success than the team had anticipated and as such the urge to create a second conference is strong. Part practical part philosophical the event on the 16th of September we are inviting partners and gathering professionals representative of organisations and groups across the Baltic Nordic countries to co-create the agenda for the next Riga ICCE 2022 – International Conference of Circus Education.
Rigorous Practise
2019 - 2020
During 2020 BNCN will develop and produce masterclasses for theatre and festival technicians in the Baltic-Nordic countries.
The project explores gaps in the technical knowledge for contemporary circus presentation in the Baltic-Nordic countries and starts to bench-mark the existing knowledge in the Baltic-Nordic rigging community.
During 2020 two masterclasses will be carried out in Stockholm and in Riga conducted by professionals from Cirkus Cirkör (SE) and Cirko Centre for New Circus (FI).
Project Partners: Cirkus Syd (SE), Riga Circus (LV), Cirkus Cirkör (SE), Manegen (SE), Cirko Centre for New Circus (FI) and Dynamo (Dk).
