Cirkus Syd (CS) är en internationell ideell förening och nätverksplattform för forskning, utveckling, och innovation med säte i Lund. CS stöds av Lunds kommun genom flera bidrag inklusive projektfinansiering, aktivitetsfinansiering för barn och unga, samt det 3-åriga inkubatorstödet för organisationsutveckling MAXI på Stenkrossen. Som en del av vårt MAXI-stöd syftar CS till att hitta nya verksamhetsområden med särskilt fokus på lokalt, regionalt, och nationellt samarbete. Vi försöker hitta nya vägar till samarbete med organisationer, artister, platser och utbildningsinstitutioner, samt strävar efter att finna nya sätt att knyta an till en ny publik. På uppdrag av Lunds kommuns kulturförvaltning har vi tagit fram en förstudie om att starta en ny cirkusfestival. Studien är på svenska och kommer om behov uppstår även publiceras på engelska. Vi säger stort tack till alla som medverkat och nästa steg blir att samlas i augusti för ett möte om hur vi vidare kan utveckla konceptet, samt att göra en påbyggnadsstudie om att använda Cirkus Brazil Jacks tält i festivalen. As part of our MAXI support, CS aims to find new areas of activity with a special focus on local, regional and national cooperation. We try to find new ways to collaborate with organizations, artists, places and educational institutions, and strive to find new ways to connect with a new audience.
On behalf of Lund Municipality's cultural administration, we have produced a feasibility study on starting a new circus festival. The study is in Swedish and will also be published in English if the need arises. We want to express our greatest gratitude to everyone who participated and the next step will be to gather in August for a meeting on how we can further develop the concept, as well as to do a supplementary study on using Cirkus Brazil Jack's tent in the festival. The study is designed by Katie Holloway for Cirkus Syd.
