Hej! Welcome to Lund, Cirkus Syd and Stenkrossen, please would you introduce yourselves?
I’m Lina Isaksson, and I am a Swedish circus performer. Hair suspension artist based in Stockholm working on my own creation. I'm Håkon from Norway but based in Sweden, main discipline tight wire I have a background in par four and free running. I’m really a nature lover. I am Athanasia I come from Athens, Greece and my background is circus. The past 5years I have been mainly a performer and physical artist. I’m very happy to collaborate with Lina and Håkon. We were actually all in school together in ACaPA in the Netherlands.
Have you ever been to Lund before or is this your first time?
Lina: It’s my first time in Lund, so its really great to be in a new city, that is a creative boost cos you get into exploration mood and so far its really lovely, I really like the city of lund and spring is such a good season to explore in a creative project. Håkon: I have been in Lund before, for 30 mins, but in this 30 mins I rented an electric scooter and went around the whole city and saw the Dome and the library and it was very fast pace. Athena: its my first time but my second in Sweden. Before I was in Stockholm only. It's very nice here and very cold, but very nice.
What is the project you will work on?
We are working called a project called Lysningen, which translates to 'gläntan' in Swedish. We want to make a black box performance. We are working with tight wire hair hanging and contemplating with nature materials, non human beings, like branches, water, skeletons of animals, and we are in the creation phase, this is the second residency. But it’s going to be a piece about different duets and interactions and an intimate experience with the audience. Tactile, close and shared space. This is the second time Lina is making a circular performance. That is the frame that we will have audience in 360 community vibe. And these weeks we will work a lot with skeletons specifically and we have our skeleton master here with us Athanasia the work now is about to start the conversation with this material and find out what it wants to say in the piece and process, so working through the lease of physical there or that performative sense we are going to find out a lot about the interpretation, meaning, making, the show is as sensitive as the material, zooming in. These weeks will be like a laboratory reading through the first layer of an object of a non human being and basically, hopefully, bringing aback a lot of our human experience that we project into an object and bringing a new life into it.
We will also do a sharing of the work generated during these weeks on Friday the 27th of March16:00 - 17:00 at Cirkus Syd, Stenkrossen. Email Fridamy Roth fridamy@cirkussyd.com, or just turn up 5mins before if you want to join us to watch and discuss!
