On Circus and Power

Contemporary circus is a field under phenomenal growth. More artists are making work and a diversity of organisations and roles supporting said growth are popping up across the Nordic region.   

Circus has a complex history when it comes to its relationship with power and more often than not the contempoary circus organism will be characterised by individual autonomy with collective responsibility. As circus grows our individual relationship with power is changing, some times forced, sometimes accepted, always with sacrifice and gain. We want to talk about circus and power, how we experience it from our various roles as artists, producers and directors.
